GUI Map Controls Overview

On this video you will learn about controls available on the GUI Map of ZAPTEST. If GUI Map does not appear in the interface, you can enable it by selecting it in View Menu. To select a View you can click its thumbnail image in the project explorer, Or you can find and click its object in the Repository Explorer. Also you can use Search to search for name of your View. Inside the GUI Map you can navigate using your mouse: You can drag image of your view, You can zoom-in or zoom out using the mouse wheel. With navigational controls available on the side of the GUI Map, you can zoom out, or zoom in, Or select center view with normal zoom level. To zoom into part of the view, you can press this button, and select the area you wish to zoom in. All test objects can be easily identified on the GUI Map. Every object is enclosed with animated border lines If you select an object in the GUI Map, it automatically will be selected in the Repository Explorer, and vice versa. Also if you select an object, its properties automatically displayed in the Object Properties window. To scan GUI of your application, please click Scan Application UI button, located on top-left corner of the GUI Map. If you need to use specific scanning mode, please click on arrow located next to the Scan GUI button, and select one of three available options. To add a new object manually, please click Create New Object button. On this dialog please specify name of the new object, and click OK. ZAPTEST adds new object to the object's list, and created object's placeholder in the GUI Map. For an OCR type of object, you can update its position automatically. Please press Update Object Coordinates According to Object's OCR Settings button. ZAPTEST locates the object on the GUI Map and sets its position. If you need to check OCR precision level for your object, please press Calculate and Show OCR Precision button. ZAPTEST displays acceptable precision level. In order to define new relative object, please press Create New Object button, Specify name for the new object, Then move and re-size object's placeholder to its position. In order to set relationship between two objects, select your relative object, Then click Select The Parent Object button on the GUI Map side bar. Now point and click on its parent object in the GUI Map, and press Yes to confirm. If you need to remove relationship between the objects, you can do this by clicking twice on Relative Object button in Object Properties, and press Yes to confirm. Alternatively you can select parent object using right-click menu of your relative object: Select Set Parent Object item, then point and click on the object in the GUI Map. To change the object's position or size in the GUI Map, you need to switch to Edit mode. For this you need to select object and press Edit Selected Object button. Object's border changes color, and now you can move and re-size it. To exit from Edit mode, press same button again. Alternatively you can enter Edit mode by using right-click menu item. If you need to select an object which is fully covered by another object, Hold down Ctrl key on the keyboard, and click on your object. Now you can select object that you need from this list. To delete an object from the View, first select the object, then press Remove Selected Object button. Alternatively you can use right-click menu item to delete the object.
