I’m running windows 10. Free Version 16.1.5.
I’m trying to automate the installation and configuration of an application. Workbench will not capture it. It’s like it’s invisible to ZAPTEST.
I can click on the window but nothing happens. If I click off the window workbench grabs the screen, but my installation window is absent.
I have attached an example.
Any ideas to why this won’t capture or how to get it to capture?

ZAPTEST should be able to capture this window.
If you use dual monitor, please switch to single monitor and try again.January 20, 2017 at 1:11 am #30977Casey BrannonParticipantI was in an RDP session, which has always worked great for me, but I disconnected and logged into the machine. It only has one monitor.
I thought I had found a work around (see attachment). If I used workbench to capture and clicked on the desktop (clicking on the window itself does nothing) it would grab the whole desktop and my installation window. I went through and grabbed objects, and put some in the script to test, but when it came time to run the script it could never find the objects. It just did nothing. My work around is a no go and my automation is DOA :/

Zaptest wouldn’t capture my UAC prompt either. I can get around that by disabling UAC, but I’d rather not.
January 20, 2017 at 1:30 am #30979Valentin ZAPKeymasterI suggest to try two things:
1) Run ZAPTEST as an Administrator and try to scan the app again
2) Update ZAPTEST to the latest versionIf the first solution works, I still suggest to update ZAPTEST to the latest version. We’ve had many bug fixes since 16.1.5.

I’m on 16.1.15, just a fat finger.
January 20, 2017 at 2:05 am #30981Valentin ZAPKeymasterhahaha I get that all the time..
well I’m glad it helped!
Ps. the latest version is 16.2.7… 16.2.8 is coming out in the end of the day today (new auto-update interface)
January 20, 2017 at 2:07 am #30982Valentin ZAPKeymasterhahaha happens to me all the time…
well, i’m glad it helped!
Ps. latest version is 16.2.7. but I believe another update will be released by end of day today – 16.2.8.
January 20, 2017 at 2:10 am #30983Casey BrannonParticipantMaybe for the enterprise version?? I”m on the Free version, when I tell it to check for updates it says I’m on the latest version.
I set the app to always start in “run as admin” so hopefully no more problems like this. Thanks again!
January 20, 2017 at 2:27 am #30984Valentin ZAPKeymasterHmm.. I’m glad you mentioned this because this looks like a bug. It should tell you there’s a new version available! We’ll look into this.
Meanwhile, I recommend to go to this page and download the setup file, and just install it on top of the current installation you have (no need to uninstall – unless it makes problems). You can also check what’s new in 16.2.7. there had been many changes!

Ps. hopefully today’s 16.2.8 fixes this auto-update issue.
January 20, 2017 at 2:36 am #30985Casey BrannonParticipantWell, it is my job to find software bugs 😉
Downloading newest version now.
